Anti Trump Cards cause campaign

When Donald Trump sold digital trading cards of himself as a superhero, astronaut and cowboy, Buena made a set of its own. Anti Trump Cards are a 'Jail Edition': Trump in an orange jumpsuit, $99 each, with all proceeds going to anti-Trump election groups.

Trump sold $99 trading cards of himself as a superhero

In December 2022, Donald Trump teased a 'major announcement.' It turned out to be digital trading cards of himself, $99 each, showing him as a superhero, an astronaut and a cowboy.

The cards drew mockery, including from Republicans, and still sold out within a day. Trump licensed his name and image to the company selling them; none of it was for a cause.

Going into the 2024 election, we asked a simple question. What would the honest version of that set look like?

Jail Edition card 'Orange for the Orange': a painted Trump in an orange jumpsuit

Same $99 cards, a Jail Edition, every dollar against him

Anti Trump Cards keep everything about the original except the ending. Same format, same $99 price, but this is the Jail Edition.

The set swaps capes for orange jumpsuits and puts his own record on the cards. The names include 'Orange for the Orange,' 'Bad Hombre,' 'You're in Tiny Hands,' 'Choke on This,' 'Bars-a-Lago' and 'Whitehouse Lunch, Jan 6, 2021.'

The twist is where the money goes. Every dollar from every card would go to organizations working to defeat him at the ballot box.

  • Same $99

Priced exactly like the cards Trump sold of himself.

  • Jail Edition

Orange jumpsuits instead of capes, and card names drawn from his own record.

  • Every dollar against him

All proceeds go to organizations working to defeat him in the election.

A finished set and pitch from January 2024, never released

This was a proactive Buena idea, made on our own time in January 2024. We designed the card system, the gold-framed layout and the card names, and painted the art as concept comps with AI image tools.

The set and a one-page pitch exist. We found no record that the cards were ever sold or released, and they raised no money.

We still like the idea. Same $99, different ending.
